My name is Crystal Hart. Born and raised in the Bay Area, I grew up playing competitive soccer and volleyball throughout my youth. After graduating from Woodside High School in 1995, I attended San Diego State University and in 2003 obtained my degree in Astrophysics. After college, I went from a researcher in Astronomy, Manufacturing Engineer, and back to Astronomy as an observer at a Solar Telescope in Sunspot, NM. I supported Solar Physicists in acquiring and analyzing data. I held my position for 4 solid years before moving back to the Bay Area in 2014.
This was the same year the 49ers would call Levi Stadium their new home. If you know me, you know I come from a family of football and a love for the sport. This was a year of personal transition and I was ready to expand into a new work space. I applied for a position in the Alumni Dept. and quickly found myself in the professional sports industry. I soaked up every opportunity to shadow, learn and observe the best of the best. I spent 2.5 seasons working in Football Affairs. I admired and respected the discipline and dedication involved in the organization and applied what I learned and turned to a career as a fitness professional.
I've been a client in the fitness industry for as long as I can remember. Fad diets, over working out, starving myself, but no lasting results in my general wellness and well-being. When I stopped micromanaging my behavior I finally began to see change. I found ways to exercise and strength train that I enjoyed and my mind and body craved. I experimented with foods and learned how to fuel rather than deprive my body. It’s not one size fits all and I was embarking on a journey to find my fit. Over the past 10 + years, I turned my love of movement and fascination with nutrition into a lifestyle. In January 2017, I traded in my client status for one of a Fitness Professional. I fell in love with the support and acceptance I experienced in an industry that can be intimidating and polarizing. I found a place where I could be vulnerable and authentic without judgment. It was important for me to find a way to give back. This is why I became a fitness coach; to encourage others to find beauty in their strength and celebrate that strength.
